I'm a songwriter who loves to collaborate with other songwriters, vocalists, musicians and producers.
For songwriters who dont sing or perform it is extremely hard to make ones mark in the music business because they dont have a platform to present and promote their work. This is more or less the situation that I, Robert Baitinger, have been confronted with since I started writing songs in 1978. My idea is to complement my songwriting capabilities with the "helping hands" of excellent artists, musicians and innovative producers. In the age of the internet it has become easier to communicate and collaborate with musicians and producers all over the world. I am utilizing the internet and pursuing the idea of a conceptual studio band with a frequently changing lineup of artists. I call this project the "Rob B. Project" since I supply the melodies and/or lyrics of a song and other musicians/producers/songwriters contribute their talents and skills to make it come to life.

Story behind the song
Harlan Rogers, a somewhat well-known keyboard player from the ’80s, is the composer of the original instrumental. My Nashville co-writer, Kay-lynn Carew, came across one of his instrumentals (https://youtu.be/7FdMJIVxxgM?si=IMuldN5ZHi1TYka8) and asked if we could write lyrics for it. He kindly gave us his blessing. Kay-lynn and I then wrote the lyrics together. She also recorded a vocal to provide Suno (an AI-based music production tool) with a template for the vocal melody. We specified the instrumentation, and Suno generated instrumental and vocal stems. Since raw Suno productions aren’t always the highest quality, I treated the stems as production material rather than a finished product. For example, I imported the bass stem into EZ Bass to create a MIDI file that I could refine. Some of the saxophone and string parts were played by me on my keyboard; others came from Suno. I also used Melodyne and time-alignment tools to match keys and tighten the timing of the different Suno recordings. In the end, everything was assembled like a puzzle and refined in my DAW to create a cohesive final track. Suno was used as a production tool - not as a songwriter or lyric generator.
Lyrics
The Greatest Love [Verse] Something was missing A space I could not fill Not with pain or pleasure Tried to run away By standing still I was in the dark Afraid to move and Closed my heart when You gave me life and Showed me the greatest love [Verse] Years in the darkness Searching for your light Every step felt endless I felt so lost just Wandering through the night Everything was gray I had to trust you Go your way and That’s how I know I found the greatest love [Bridge] There’s no way around it I had to step right through That’s when I found that It was always about you [Verse] Once in a lifetime That’s what the poets say I choose to believe that We all find the truth Along the way When you seek, you'll find When you look up you Won't need proof of How I know I found the greatest love [Instrumental Interlude] [Verse] I was here waiting For a lifetime love That’s when you found me It took so long But now I clearly see You could not reach me So I learned to trust In God above That’s how I know I found the greatest love [Outro] That’s how I know I found the greatest Love
