One of my favourite arrangements with synth-guitar sax/horn hooks, some hot lead guitar, rap verse lyrics with traditional chorus vocals, and an alternative bluesy progression, portraying our disastrous western political landscape.

Story behind the song
Although I tend to be hopeful regarding the potential for individual well-being, I'm sure that the general human condition is extremely bleak. Our current western political establishment is senselessly being run mostly by people with academic technical intelligence, devoid of wisdom and sincerity, except in the false sense, when the situation is such that feigning such qualities appears to be the most self-serving tactic. I used to side with Liberals and Democrats, but then the Democrats decided to get us into a war against Russia, while supporting the insurrectionist Ukrainian closet-Neo-Nazis, hiding behind their Jewish actor puppet-President. Denying Ukrainian Neo-Nazism is like denying the existence of Mexican drug cartels controlling the Mexican government. What good is voicing concerns for human rights and environmental protection when at the same time advocating for a what could easily become a nuclear World War III. Having to spend huge amounts of money maintaining cutting-edge military tech ensures that we won't be able to fund social and environmental efforts. Now I don't support any politicians. The most important western truth-tellers are all being kept out of the mainstream press and limited to YouTube etc. Here's a list of some of my favourites: Douglas Macgregor, John Mearsheimer, Jeffery Sachs, Scott Ritter, Daniel Davis, Max Blumenthal... And then there's Russia and China. Say what you will, benevolent authoritarianism mixed with an element of democracy is the most efficient form of government, and that's what these two countries have been benefiting from under their current rulers, while we sink deeper into debt and disunion. I always liked this song arrangement when I first wrote it for the song "When Every Day is Monday". However, I decided that the song warranted more biting lyrics, hence this new variation.
Lyrics
CASTLE OF CARDS Liberal conservative, a meaningless prerogative, Republican or Democrat, pretty much the same hat, Plutocrat or communist, dictator populist, Military overthrow, electioneering circus show, Everything is madness, everyday is mindless, Everything is madness, everyday is needless, Everything is madness, everyday is pointless, Everything is madness, everyday is senseless, A castle of cards Environmental breakdown, economic meltdown, Mental health dysfunction, nuclear destruction, Apocalyptic certainty, humankind's destiny, Personal salvation, or worldly imitation, Everything is madness, everyday is needless, Everything is madness, everyday is pointless, Everything is madness, everyday is senseless, A castle of cards
