Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song

Many years ago I read two novels by British author, Malcolm Lowry... Under The Volcano and Dark As The Grave Wherein My Friend Is Laid. 
Neither of them are especially 'easy' books to read. They made an impression on me nonetheless. This song is inspired by them and the story they tell. This is a much simpler version of the song I wrote and recorded in 2023

great track David, really love the pared back 'less is more' approach - clarity abounds with such a mix, excellent guitar/vocals and overall a 'big' solid sound for such a stripped down version - 'grow some funk of your own' as Elt & Bern would have said back in '75!
