Hi, I am Stan! I play a guitar with backing tracks and sometimes real people. I grew up in Chicago and fell in love with the guitar...
Stan is a multi-instrumentalist and singer/songwriter. His production of the 2010 album "All That Glitters" by Mimi Betinis earned the Top Pop award in Illinois. Stan has recorded with many groups and solo artists Midge Ure (Ultravox) and Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy). He writes for TV & film and performs whenever he can get on stage. Stan works in many styles but his favourite style of Texas Stomp (Cowboy-Tech) is his heart song Hi, I am Stan! I play a guitar with backing tracks and sometimes real people. I grew up in Chicago and fell in love with the guitar after a Blind Lemon Jefferson show at the Chicago University that my cousin took me to. I pushed my piano on the side for a while but after I saw ELP! I found a PAiA synth kit and learned to solder (ha), stayed up for three days and discovered new ways to make music. Youthful ENERGY! After school got out, I visited my sister in Miami and stumbled into a gig with Cameron Sound. I was on a crew working with ZZ Top and Charlie Daniels and tons of huge arena acts - Aerosmith, Fleetwood Mac, Jeff Beck... It gave me a glimpse at the other side of the music biz. That opened the door for many audio jobs. This was early in the rockshow biz and not as refined as it is today. I had work but still wanted to write my songs and play guitar. I was given the chance when a 3-piece band I was working for wanted to add a second guitar. They heard me playing and I was asked join. I tried to turn it down, not wanting to mix my work with my passion but eventually stepped in and helped form The Kind from Chicago. Best decision I ever made! Now I have come full circle to my own music. I am performing again and producing many older (and newer) songs. I hope you enjoy my music... ___ Thank you all for the support you have shown me over the years. Lyrics
I had a girl once she was all mine We were real friends then we were just friends I had a good time it was all right It was real fun then it wasnt too fun I turned around and looked in her eyes I used to see her now I only see what looks like A Hardtime I had a love, you say that shes fine Its a strange game, call it lots of bad names Some they like to take it and some they like to give it Only problems when you cant believe in it So turn around now, its OK Understand it before you live A Hardtime It used to be a Goodtime Turn around now look in her eyes Turn the clock back and make it all right Let the goodtimes settle and die But dont go I had a girl once she was all mine We were real friends then we were just friends I told a girl once she could be mine But turn the clock back let it be me again Turn around and open your eyes Turn around and open your eyes Turn around now around now and try
