A psychedelic beat combo from when we were very young
Story behind the song
The lyric came out of random events and observations from one of our first trips to Northumberland, where we're now happily living.
For those military aviation nerds out there (yes you) yes I know Blackhawks aren't commonly used as gunships and we wouldn't have seen them in the UK anyway but Apache didn't fit so there it is.
Lyrics
We reached the shore the third day
Silver sand a welcome change
Blackhawk gunships overhead
This is where the footprints end
Just one question if I may:
How much longer can we stay?
Paths we knew confound our way
Ask if we can touch the cow
Thinking of what had been lost
Where the river meets the sea
Oh the tangled web we weave
Who will stay after we leave?
Oh the tangled web we weave (just one question if I may)
Oh the tangled web we weave (just one question if I may)
Oh the tangled web we weave (just one question if I may)
Oh the tangled web we weave (just one question if I may)
Painting pictures in the clouds
Clock strikes 18 minutes to
Fipping kippers from the stream
Tea for three beside the shore
Just one question if you would:
Can life ever get this good?
