Martin Gustav Collective
Growing up in Austria, I founded my first band in 1994 playing bass, which has remained my main instrument ever since. From early on, I was the kind of musician who composed the music around existing lyrics. Over the years, a lot has changed: from my very first recordings on cassette tapes, to the first steps with Cool Edit Pro, and eventually moving on to Logic each stage shaped my sound and approach. With the internet, it became easier to connect with lyricists and musicians from all over the world and turn ideas into full productions. I was never the strongest lyricist myself, but I developed my own style as a songwriter and composer. The Martin Gustav Project is where I present these collaborations a collection of songs shaped by friendship, creativity, and the joy of making music together.

Story behind the song
This Christmas song reflects the journey from childhood wonder to adult routine and the rediscovery of magic through the eyes of our own children. A tender reminder that the peace and joy of Christmas never truly disappear, they just wait to be seen again.
Lyrics
Verse 1 I can hear the childrens laughter Their voices make the season bright When they sing about the Holy Night I havent been home for so long But now it feels its all alright This feeling that Im coming home tonight Chorus I hear the childrens laughter like back then Christmas time is here again The street where I grew up is all covered in white Children smiling everywhere Christmas peace is in the air What a way to celebrate this silent night Verse 2 Mama was baking in the kitchen Dad told us stories every year While we waited for the Christchild to appear I can hear my sisters voice As she and I stood by the tree As we were caught in Christmas mystery Chorus I hear the childrens laughter like back then Christmas time is here again The street where I grew up is all covered in white Children smiling everywhere Christmas peace is in the air What a way to celebrate this silent night Bridge / Outro My childlike eyes have disappeared My childlike voice is gone, I fear But I can see it in our children every night With eyes as bright as candlelight
