Robert Baitinger, a songwriter from Germany
For songwriters who dont sing or perform it is extremely hard to make ones mark in the music business because they dont have a platform to present and promote their work. This is more or less the situation that I, Robert Baitinger, a songwriter from Germany, have been confronted with since I started writing songs in 1978. My idea is to complement my songwriting capabilities with the "helping hands" of excellent artists, musicians and innovative producers. In the age of the internet it has become easier to communicate and collaborate with musicians and producers all over the world. I am utilizing the internet and pursuing the idea of a conceptual studio band with a frequently changing lineup of artists. I call this project the "Rob B. Project" since I supply the melodies and/or lyrics of a song and other musicians/producers/songwriters contribute their talents and skills to make it come to life.

Lyrics
I'll Never Hold What's Born To Fly [Verse 1] Didn't notice how she changed How she grew in subtle ways If I had I'd been amazed [Verse 1] My timid butterfly Grew wings and learned to fly While I sat idly by [Pre-chorus] She metamorphosed and she grew her wings Learned to appreciate the finer things [Chorus] Say why, why was I so blind No matter how I try, I'll never hold what's born to fly Seems I, I've lost track of time Now I have to realize, I'll never hold what's born to fly [Verse 3] Things will never be the same Every time I say her name I know that I'm the one to blame [Verse 3] Seen her on the evening news Around the town a time or two All she says is how are you [Pre-chorus] She metamorphosed and she grew her wings Learned to appreciate the finer things [Chorus] Say why (why) Why was I so blind No matter how I try, I'll never hold what's born to fly Seems I (I) I've lost track of time Now I have to realize, I'll never hold what's born to fly [Bridge] I know I held her way too tight She had no space to breathe Now I wish she'd still be here with me [Guitar solo] [Chorus] Say why (say why) Why was I so blind (why was I so blind) No matter how I try, I'll never hold what's born to fly (I'll never hold what's born to fly) Seems I (seems I) I've lost track of time (I've lost track of time) Now I have to realize, I'll never hold what's born to fly (I'll never hold what's born to fly) [Outro] I'll never hold what's born to fly
