Story behind the song
This song was composed on 7/25/2025. It completes my project of trying to place myself in the shoes of Christians in each of the seven churches of Asia who received letters from the Savior rebuking the actions that led them away from Christ and exhorting their growth in the areas where they had been faithful to Him. This provided good self-analysis for me in the areas where I need to be more faithful to Him.

I am a refugee from Laodicea. I could not find a way there to survive.
The wishy-washy feeling, it gave me a concern that no one would be left alive.
But God is faithful, and He is true. He continues to care for those who live there,
Who, in this world, are rich, yet spiritually they are poor,
But, if they heed Gods Word, they will find an open door.
I am a refugee from Laodicea, where reception of Gods Word is cause for alarm
The gospel even passed through Cenchrea, but here its receptions just luke-warm.
I give you counsel to put your money in the gold thats refined by the fire of trials,
that your garments may washed and the shame of your nakedness be covered.
Anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.
