Story behind the song
This song was composed on 7/24/2025. It is the 5th of my attempts to see myself in the place of the seven churches in Revelation to whom brief epistles were written, describing the good and the evil that was found in them and giving recommendations. This song came rather quickly to me, as I mostly used the melody of music I had composed last week for a young lady from the Songwriters Guild to go with a poem she had written.

I am a resident of Thyatira. I feel God watching me with eyes like fire.
His feet, like brass, are stronger than any earthly kingdom.
He sees my works, love, service, faith, and patience; the last of which are more than the first.
May I finish well and reject the things you have against me; especially false prophets, who seduce to immorality.
I must choose my side and not have my feet in both camps.
If I listen to that Jezebel and commit adultery with her, it will mean great tribulation, unless I repent.
Her offspring will die, as God searches the minds and hearts, and repays everyone of us according to our works.
You do not give us more than we can bear. There is a way of escape for us to take.
I must cast my cares on You, as Your yoke is easy, and Your burden is light.
I know Your truth. Let me hold on to it until You come.
Those who overcome and follow Your ways until the end will have power over the nations.
You will rule the heathen nations with a rod of iron and dash them in pieces like jars of clay.
Lord, give me the morning star, and by faith Ill be a resident of Heaven.
