Song about stroding your way through life.
Original songs from the mid to late 1970's. My first adventures in songwriting and performing. Good times
It exists therefore it am. They came from inner space and left no turn unstoned. The journey began and nothing was ever the same again (or during). Are you ready to cruise with the Spaceship Vicar?
Story behind the song
Earl;y attempts at songwriting involved fiding great chord sequences and stringing together words... which sounded good together but made no sense. 'Stroding' meant walking in a soild way through whetever experiences life may send.
Lyrics
Doing Strode
(Maylor/Pratt 1974)
I stroded down the ketchup
With my marrow and my gilded basoon
I marrowed down the ketchup
With my stroded metallic basoon
I stroded with the bishop
I'll probably even strode you soon.
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode.
I stroded up to Manchester
Basooning all the afternoon
I manned on up to Strodechester
Gilding all the afternoon
I stroded with the vicar
I've even marrowed out my basoon.
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode.
Guitar Break
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode,
Doing Strode, Doing Strode, Doing Strode.
