Mike Mitchell (Lead Vocalist, Guitarist) Steve Leighton (No longer w/ band: Lead Guitarist) Special Mention: Brett Talley (Percussion, Lead Guitar, Effects.
Just Six Spaces was formed in the Summer of 2004, after friends and fellow musicians Mike Mitchell and Steve Leighton defected from their former band "Nova", and decided to form an open collaboration. The band then cut a four song demo at "Hand in Hand" studios, which was produced by their good friend and mentor, Brett Talley. After touring the bar and coffee shop scene for about a year, Mike and Steve both went to college, which was unbeknownst to them, the downfall of the band. Mike Mitchell has continued to play, and now goes by his given name. He has been writing new material for over a year, and hopes to re-enter the studio soon to record some new music. Story behind the song
Have you ever felt like when you look in the mirror, you don't like what you see anymore? Well this song is about a person, seeing him/herself in the mirror, and they don't like themselves anymore. In turn, they tell their loved one, that they should just go. Just leave and be better off.
Lyrics
Look at yourself in the mirror, Tell me do you like what you see now. What will it take to get things clearer? And break the back of the demons on you now? Cuz' you're winding down, Growing out, Of all you've worked to have, And hold onto. Cuz' this hope you've found, Is strolling out, The door, Without even saying goodbye. Just go, Just go without me, You'll be better off without me. Just go ahead and doubt me. Just go, Just go without me, I was the only one who cared about me, You'll be better off without me. Look at yourself in the mirror, Tell me do you like what you've become? All of the question marks, And all the things undone? When so much means so little, And your life's stuck in the middle, Of a tug-of-war, You just can't seem to win. And when so much means so little, And your world is upside-down, What can you do to clear yourself?
