Mellow, revolutionary, radical, very far from the center of public opinion solo artist
Reverend Black Dog is an impromptu singer-songwriter guitarist performing his own songs live! "After hearing friends jam on acoustic guitars in a Blue Mound, Texas backyard circa 1981 I was hooked." Reverend Black Dog is a revolutionary, radical, very far from the center of public opinion solo artist with ideas that no one seems to be going for! The term 'black dog' use to be a way of referring to feelings of depression, sadness, melancholy; despondency; the blues, way back in the day; possibly in reference to the three-headed demon dog that patrols the house of Hades from Greek mythology: "No company is more hateful than your own, the black dog follows you, and hangs close with hungry fangs!" (Horace). The name "Reverend Black Dog" was also influenced by the artist name "Black Ace" and songs "Black Snake Moan" and "Black Dog Blues" by Blind Blake, and of course, "Black Dog" by Led Zeppelin; also, the Chinese astrological signs "Snake" and "Dog." The title, "Reverend" was borrowed with all due respect, from the title (of respect) often prefixed to the name of a member of the Christian clergy to which Reverend Black Dog is not part of. Lyrics
I never change .. my way. Never change .. my way. Like to have an old friend to play lead guitar. Watch the world change it's evil ways, just kind of had to sit back, nothing I could say. Tried to help a friend or two. Nobody listens when they got a google machine. Like to have an old friend who played lead guitar. Like to have an old friend to play lead guitar. Now it's getting close to the end of this masquerade of me and who I use to be. But then, where I'm at now is more real. Like to have an old friend to play lead guitar. GUITAR OUT. (c) 2025 RMS Int..
