Please, Stay ( Full Band )

This is a re-write of Stay. This version gives a different perspective, as it in spite of the sad theme, has an uplifting beat. When a life comes to an end, it is both sad, and a time to celebrate and appreciate the joys we had.

This is where you'll find the complete mess from a songwriter/ musician. Some songs are full productions, some are the simple worktapes.
Glimpses of ideas for songs and music, have always appeared in My mind since I was a kid. The challenge has always been to take those glimpses, and figure out all the missing parts. I have made an album in My native language, danish, but I had no idea how to get it promoted, so it tanked. I keep getting ideas for songs in different genres, by different artists and I hope to get some of them cut. Always looking for collaborations.

Story behind the song
My Mother suffered from dementia and later on cancer. She has always been loving and caring. I saw her being alive, yet fading away. She was a good hearted woman, and there were so many heartbreaking moments. However she managed to stay positive and we got to have some wonderful times together, even though she would forget about it a few days later. She always claimed she didn't understand English, but I got to play the song for her at a small event at a local café. She had tears in her eyes. She died 6 years ago and I played the song at her funeral.
Lyrics
Hey, I wish you could stay Just a little while longer Hey, I'm begging please wait Til I get a bit stronger I know you're hurting And I'm so ashamed I don't wanna be a burden And call out your name Hey, Please stay Hey, It just isn't fair To see you hurting like this Hey, It's so hard to bear Still there, yet you're missed Your joy and your laughter Your love and your care From here on and after You'll always be here Hey, Please stay Hey, Please stay Like the last sun streak before the dark The final ride at the amusement park One more chocolate in the candy store Like a little kid, I keep wanting more This time machine goes way too fast Soon all we'll have will be the past I have to grow, I need to learn We've reached the point of no return Hey, Please stay Hey, Please stay Hey, Just know you did well You didn't do no wrong mom Hey, Though you're fading away We still have some good runs Your joy and your laughter Your love and your care From here on and after You'll always be here Hey, Please stay Hey, Please stay
