Story behind the song
This song was composed on 6/2/2025. It is a reaction to some of the bone-headed ideas that put technology before people, reminiscent of the Tower of Babel, when God scattered the people who were trying to make a name for themselves. In north and north-central Indiana, people are trying to steal Tippecanoe Countys water supply to the tune of 100 million gallons a day for a pharmaceutical and silicon chip factory in Boone County. These projected water extractions exceed the average daily water use of 1.3 million Indiana residents. It should not be difficult to recognize that soon our rural wells will run dry and even the city water supplies will be diminished.
Lyrics
In a slow burn, our land becomes a desert, as industry takes the water God intended us to drink As our hearts turn from the Savior of Creation, we make foolish decisions that draw us to the brink of the cliff where we scurry like lemmings without foresight, and we fall to our death on the treacherous rocks below There is no return once the deed is done and the water weve been drinking is all gone. When will we learn not to trust secular experts, who love things and use people, not the other way around May our hearts yearn for the welfare of all, as we share Christs love with others until all the lost are found We have bought cheap goods from Asia, built on the backs of slaves til we cant make things ourselves, as we seek a life of ease The water is for the pharmaceutical industry and for the production of silicon chips The pharmaceutical industry exacerbated COVID. The chips impinge upon our privacy. The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. God will destroy the wisdom of the wise. All that I counted gain, I consider loss, that I might attain eternal life. In a slow burn, our land becomes a desert, as industry takes the water God intended us to drink As our hearts turn from the Savior of Creation, we make foolish decisions that draw us to the brink Story behind the song This song was composed on 6/2/2025.
