Story behind the song
Celestial Collapse is an emerging musical duo formed by two kindred spirits who met by chance but were united by their shared love for music. The band consists of a dynamic drummer, outgoing and full of energy, and a reserved yet deeply expressive vocalist. Their connection was instant, sparked by their passion for creation and exploration of sound. Their journey began with a mesmerizing rendition of Dying Star by Ashnikko, which they reimagined with an ethereal, otherworldly essence. This celestial-inspired sound laid the foundation for their identity, leading to the birth of Celestial Collapsea name that embodies the vastness of space and the intensity of their artistic vision. Fusing atmospheric melodies with powerful rhythms, Celestial Collapse crafts music that transcends boundaries, pulling listeners into an immersive universe of emotion and sound. Their unique chemistry and dedication to sonic storytelling promise a musical experience that is both cosmic and deeply human. This isn't just a cover it's a full-scale emotional reconstruction. Celestial Collapses Rendition of Dying Star takes the raw lyrical vulnerability of Ashnikkos original and amplifies it with atmospheric percussion, subtle rhythmic escalation, and layered male vocal harmonies. From quiet hums to raspy lows and crystalline highs, each section rises and falls like the breath of the universe itself. A haunting yet hopeful space journey that's already resonated deeply with listeners voted better than the original by early fans. For those seeking beauty in darkness and strength in sound.
Lyrics
The ground reaches out to catch me Softly in her baseball mitt I'm tired of the dirt and grit I want something soft I'm a fish in a bucket, thrashing He tried to take me out, hooks in my mouth Listen to me when I say ouch I want something soft So I give in to the fall, fall, fall (it's cold out here) I need somethin' soft, down feathers over rocks I died and I land with both of my hands In the mud, the mud It felt like a god, how she held me I slept on her shoulder, I gave her my all (Is there anyone?) I bathed in her waterfalls And continued to fall, fall (I'm entering the exosphere) Burnin' like a dyin' star Invasive weeds rooted in my heart Set in a crooked trajectory The journey here was hard I was almost pulled apart Tryna leave this orbit, took what's left of me The forest reaches out to guide me Blue fire paths of will-o-wisps Illuminate the darkness's old tricks I'm nobody's captive (mm-mm) I asked him not to kill me politely He drained my magic core, bottled up at the source I washed up on a sea glass shores I'm nobody's captive (mm-mm) It felt like a god, how she held me I slept on her shoulder, I gave her my all I bathed in her waterfalls And continued to fall, fall Burnin' like a dyin' star Invasive weeds rooted in my heart Set in a crooked trajectory The journey here was hard I was almost pulled apart Tryna leave this orbit, took what's left of me Burnin' like a dyin' star Invasive weeds rooted in my heart Set in a crooked trajectory The journey here was hard I was almost pulled apart Tryna leave this orbit, took what's left of me The ground reaches out to catch me Softly in her baseball mitt I'm tired of the dirt and grit I want something soft

This became my favorite song after about 12 seconds, and the rest of the song only reinforced my opinion. This song is complicated yet groovy, with layers of sound artfully woven through the instruments and vocals in complimentary ranges. It also has so much texture - which is not a word I often use to describe music - but the gruffness of the male vocalist and the smoothness of the female vocalist are so intense that I feel like I can touch it. Their voices are beautiful yet powerful, soothing yet exhilarating. I love the drummer - he’s like Ringo Starr in that he compliments the vocalists and other instrumental perfectly, not overwhelming them, but then hits us with some deceptively complex beats while making them sound so fluid. He is literally the bass and figuratively the base, tying the song together. I can’t wait to hear more stars falling from Celestial Collapse!
