Fundamental Mentalities, bringing a whole new flavour of rap rock music...
Fundamental Mentalities was formed in Penang, in 2004. Originally, FDM was just a rap duo of Wormy and Schizzow. FDM dropped their debut 10-track EP in August 2004, titled Back2DBasix. Come 2005, Fundamental Mentalities decided to come up with a new sound to their music, using live instruments instead of progammed beats and samples, thus recruiting Jean, the guitarist, Zhu May, on keyboards, as well as Avni, the vocalist who was featured on their EP, and Eunice. As Wormy is currently located in LA, California, and Zhu May is going to Australia to further her studies soon, producing new tracks will be a problem in some ways. Nevertheless, the band is now working on tracks for their full length LP, and has already completed their first single, A Night In The Sky, soon to be released. However, the band is still in the lookout for a drummer, as well as a bassist.

Lyrics
Shed A Tear Schizzow feat. Avni [Verse 1] Murder, rape and robbery common in the daily news Citizens fear of pregnancy, they can’t afford to produce They rather choose not to bring more lives to suffer on earth Impoverished parents abandoning their babies at birth It ain’t ok to see bombs falling like rain Innocent being slain when there ain’t no gain Can’t stand the pain, that’s what we all exclaim That’s what we all complain, but it all still the same It’s such a shame, the level of racial discrimination Destroying harmony and dividing nations Providing rations won’t solve complications How much longer can hospitals shelter all these patients? Says he wants peace, yet he wage wars Solution’s the least, death becomes more For the sake of this world and our lives so dear Take a time out to ponder why we ain’t shedding those tears [Chorus] War corrupts the hearts of men in our world today Thinking bout themselves going their own separate ways People gotta beg for that little piece of bread No one ain’t shedding no tears, they’re playing dead [Verse 2] Bitches in the backstreets boasting their sex appeal Prostitution the only way to make a meal But there be kids with dreams they wish to fulfill Never knowing that their ambitions might never be real In a land where man’s gotsta steal, gotsta kill To earn a living, to pay their bills How many living are wishing that their lives ain’t real? How many need medication but can’t afford them pills? They be writing them wills, future’s in the laps of Gods Strive to survive life before death do them apart We gotta share one heart, one mind, one vision Stop giving excuses but comprehend the reasons Clear them streets, clear them from those crime demons Why we fighting for peace, when we ain’t got freedom? Free them trapped souls, bring them near so they can hear Our cry for peace, let’s all shed a tear [Chorus]
