Fundamental Mentalities, bringing a whole new flavour of rap rock music...
Fundamental Mentalities was formed in Penang, in 2004. Originally, FDM was just a rap duo of Wormy and Schizzow. FDM dropped their debut 10-track EP in August 2004, titled Back2DBasix. Come 2005, Fundamental Mentalities decided to come up with a new sound to their music, using live instruments instead of progammed beats and samples, thus recruiting Jean, the guitarist, Zhu May, on keyboards, as well as Avni, the vocalist who was featured on their EP, and Eunice. As Wormy is currently located in LA, California, and Zhu May is going to Australia to further her studies soon, producing new tracks will be a problem in some ways. Nevertheless, the band is now working on tracks for their full length LP, and has already completed their first single, A Night In The Sky, soon to be released. However, the band is still in the lookout for a drummer, as well as a bassist.

Lyrics
High School Memoirs Schizzow feat. Freddie [Chorus] Inside these fences we bonded Ain’t no senses when we started But the picture is getting clearer to us We’re morphing slowly into something inevitable We finally understand, that after all the shenanigans You and I, we step out into the world, to be the perfect gentleman [Verse 1] High school, the most memorable episode in life Nostalgic moments engraved in our minds till the way we die High school, where we had crushes, and where love was blind Where we crossed our lines, where fights were always fine The only time we really got out of our minds Is when we strive to pursue so that we could shine Where everything we did was considered a crime Where we would break the rules ten times out of nine Reminisce the times you cheated on your physics paper Remember the grudge you held against your discipline teacher Now we never gonna live through those days no more High school life washed away like seaweed on the shore No matter how much you deny it, you know you gonna miss it Leaving your marks in forms of graffiti in the toilet Don’t spoil it, cos though our tags can always be erased But the memories will last in our minds till the end of our days [Chorus] [Verse 2] Chung Ling’s never been the same since the double S crew We brought the revolution and we gonna be the legends too How we used to stay back in school every Thursday afternoon To practise our breakdance, learning new moves and grooves Like Adrian, when he pops he just can’t stop Dennis doing crickets, he hops and hops Running away from the cops, while bombing with cans DFC beautifying your hood with the skills of their hands Skipping classes whenever we had the chance Seek refuge in the Karate Room to execute our plans But then, who could forget all the mischief we made Like placing condoms in the girls’ toilets and stealing canteen’s cups and plates And the frequent trips to the discipline room How we gonna miss the sounds of fire crackers exploding at noon And soon, we gotta leave all the fun we had behind To step into the inevitable new chapter in life [Chorus]
