Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
Jesus Oldman and I are working on music together. This is a song that we wrote together. We decided to add a few 'seaworthy', sound effects too. A ship's bell, the sound of sea-lions and lastly the sound of mermaids calling. The song has been mixed down with great care and attention to detail, into a magnificent and memorable listening experience. Hope you all like it. Sail on sailors...
Lyrics
WAYFARING MAN ON THE SEA I'm a seafaring man On a seafaring vessel If sun fails to shine I utter dismissal Hold fast in the rain To the wheel cradled here in my hands On the sea I do what I can do with noble intention Thankful for this life, which is God's invention Hold fast to the reins Through turns and corners I can't see On the sea For we sail high, and sail low Through sun wind and rain and sometimes the snow Look out yonder there and ponder... I'm out somewhere being me A wayfaring man on the sea Sailed out so long ago As it's my bread and butter Me Mum was a Saint Me Dad was a Nutter I do all I can do To be the best man I can be On the sea It's a heluva life But to me it's just grand Never did last too long Back on the dry land 'Cause when all's said and done On the waves is where I'm meant to be That's just me For we sail high, and sail low Through sun wind and rain and sometimes the snow Look out yonder there and ponder... I'm out somewhere being me A wayfaring man on the sea -Guitar solo... Man that was a close call Shivered me to me timbers The rise and the fall of waves Keeping me limber Now the sight of the run Peeking through the clouds Smiling on me On the sea It's the craziest life But the only I know The call of the bounding mane Keeps me in tow And I'll live and I'll die Where I am that's the life chasing me Where I be For we sail high, and sail low Through sun wind and rain and sometimes the snow Look out yonder there and ponder... I'm out somewhere being me A wayfaring man on the sea Look out yonder there and ponder... I'm out somewhere being me A wayfaring man on the sea Copyright 2024 - OLDMAN/BRIGGS
