A 2024 re-mix of a song I wrote in 2012 for a Coconut Blues Club challenge. This song's subject matter and lyrics fit well into this sea flavoured album.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
A song about a sea journey to Treasure Island ?
Lyrics
Tales Of The Caribbean (c) 2012 David A Briggs. Narrator: (Jim Hawkins) I went to sea when I was ten, Jim Hawkins is my name. The salty sea gets in your blood and drives a man insane. The cook, a man with just one leg, would tell of all he'd seen. Of buried treasure that he'd left, in the Caribbean. Ships crew: (acapella) From Bristol town in eighty-three, A strong wind to our backs. We headed to the Caribbean, with a crew of jolly jacks. First Mate: Haul-away ... haul-away boys. Crow's Nest Look-out: Land ahoy ! Narrator: (Jim Hawkins) Adventures had along the way, A sailor's life for me. I loved the sea and my friend Long-John. Back then I was so free. You know the story now I'm sure, and how it all played out. And if you see my friend Long-John, wave to him and shout. I went to sea when I was ten, Jim Hawkins is my name. The salty sea gets in your blood and drives a man insane. Ships crew: (acapella) From Bristol town in eighty-three, A strong wind to our backs. We headed to the Caribbean, with a crew of jolly jacks.

You did this initially 12 years ago? Wow. Sounds so fresh. Very impressive. I'll say hi to Long-John Silver Beatle next time we mix it up in the Studio. Fascinating, all of this. Well Done! Now I'm feeling creative... Good on you Mate! Thank you!
