Imagine if you will...you unexpectedly find yourself on the planet Jupiter, just a short distance from the Big Red Spot (Jupiters Eye). For some reason you're compelled to drift toward the Eye, and then to actually venture into the vast hurricane-like storm which has been raging for hundreds of years. As you forge forward into the cyclone, the intensity builds until the tonal chaos surrounding you becomes so ill-defined that it barely resembles music. The chaos continues until it gives way to the peaceful center of the storm (also known as the eye in a Earthly hurricane) and for a few brief moments theres a respite from the tonal assault. As you push onward beyond the center, the chaotic fury returns and persistswith slowly diminishing intensityuntil you reach the other edge and emerge from Jupiters Eye.
Jupiter's Eye was inspired by a lifelong fascination with the Big Red Spot, and by the intense personal experience of standing outdoors for a time during the peak wind and rain of Hurricane Ivan in lower Alabama in 2004.
