Story behind the song
Angels is dedicated to our friend & mentor of my producer Clive. Mr Steve Gilmore unfortunately lost his 2 1/2 year battle with cancer and sadly passed away on 9th January 2024. I'm sure that Steve will be greatly missed by those he helped along the way with his regular and sometimes critical, yet totally honest, constructive reviews on Ejay and the original mp3unsigned site (now mp3u.com) Steve was an inspiration to Clive and became his mentor from 2001-2003. Steve was probably that to many other struggling electronic music artists along the way too. He once wrote, "Clive aka Spyda is one to watch" & because of his encouragement Clive continued to diversify his style of music, creating many artist aliases producing music in many different genres & becoming a terrific song writer & producer with over 30 artists worldwide. The album, podcast & unpublished book 'The Haunting Of Charlotte & Emily' by Clive's 'Taurus Project' was directly influenced by Steve's support & positivity over a 15 year period. Steve was a superb electronic music producer with an original stye all his own as Steve Gilmore & In No Sense and Rebel Riffs. Luckily sites like SoundClick & mp3u.com will have his music for us all to hear for many years to come. Our sincere condolences go out to his family and friends.
