Story behind the song
Jesus solved our biggest hurdle in this life: Fear of death. Yet people continue to whine about the little stuff that goes wrong in their life; many of these folks always seem to think that their messed-up lives are "someone else's fault!!" Do the words "personal responsibility" mean anything to anyone anymore? C'mon, people! Jesus solved the big problem. The least you can do is work to straighten out the other messes you've gotten yourself into!
Lyrics
I used to worry a lot--Gave it everything I got--Now I don't know what to do. Since Jesus came into my life and saved me from my strife, I got the no-blues blues. I used to waste a lot of time with the troubles on my mind, 'Til he came and took those, too. The thing that cuts like a knife is now, I gotta straighten out my life, So I got the no-blues blues. Mopin' an' cryin' an' thinkin' o' dyin' ain't gonna get you nowhere, But if you let Jesus in, cast your troubles on him, You got no excuse for despair. For this new problem I got I say, "Jesus, thanks a lot!"--I gotta tell ya that it's true: You can't get stuck in your sin 'cause you can do all things in him, Oh, I got the no-blues blues. Mopin' an' cryin' an' thinkin' o' dyin' ain't gonna get you nowhere, But if you let Jesus in, cast your troubles on him, You got no excuse for despair. I used to waste a lot of time with the troubles on my mind, 'Til he came and took those, too. The thing that cuts like a knife is now, I gotta straighten out my life, So I got the no-blues blues. No, I can't spend the day long, just a-singin' the same old sad, sad song, I got the no-blues blues,
