Story behind the song
Gordy's early years.
Lyrics
Breech Birth Came into this world, in trouble from the start. He was a breech birth, damn near took out his heart. Cord wrapped around his neck, his brain started to swell. He survived an operation, but his body went through hell. Doctors had no hope for him to walk or talk. They never thought he could manage himself at all. But his mother never stopped sending up her prayers. And Gordy showed them all when he was standing there. Gordy started walking and talking, that's a fact. But little did the know that, a monkey was still on his back. One side of his body was outgrowing the other... Operations in his future lined up, one after another. after another... Gordy's mother's prayers have never ever, let him down. Gordy started walking, and walking alway's gaining ground. Gordy's mother's prayers have never let him down. Gordy kept on walking, and now he's a legend in our town! Gordy's mother's prayers have never ever, let him down. Gordy started walking, and walking alway's gaining ground. Gordy's mother's prayers have never let him down. Gordy kept on walking, and now he's a legend in our town! Jerry L. Willard 1:31 PM 9/7/2022
