Story behind the song
I wrote the lyrics to this song in 2003 about an old job I had, and ironically I wrote them right at my desk! Just like "I Can Breathe Again", this song has multiple meanings and can be interpreted any way you wish, about a friend, a job, a relationship, whatever you want it to be. Basically it’s a song asking yourself why you made the choices you made, cause sometimes you'll come to regret them later. Trust me, I know.
Lyrics
Lyrics and Music written from January - February 2003 (1st verse) I never knew when I made my decision, that I'd be caught in a web of deceit. If I had known, it would've been so different, but instead I am trapped in my defeat. *(Chorus) What in the world was I thinking? What has come over me? What can I do to escape this insanity? Round and round and round I go, where I stop nobody knows. Fate it has a way with me, inevitably. (2nd verse) I can't believe that I made this commitment, that I've engaged myself completely. There's no way out, I am stuck, I'm permanent. Who would do this to themselves deliberately? * (3rd verse) I only wish I could change my decision, I would reject the opportunity. I'd turn my back, I would attack the difference, and in the end, I would set myself free. (2nd chorus) What in the world was I thinking? What has come over me? What can I do to escape this insanity? Round and round and round I go, where I stop nobody knows. Fate it has a way with me, inevitably. Round and round and round I go (round and round) Where I stop nobody knows (nobody knows) Fate has a way with me, (why me) inevitably.
