Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
This is a cover of a great song recorded by Be Bop Deluxe. Although it wasn't on their Futurama album of 1975, it was recorded at that time. So, it's a bit of an obscurity. I've endeavoured to make this sound as if it's been sent into space ...as radio signals are ...but then it's been beamed back to us from a distant planet. I've always liked the relative simplicity of it compared to other Be Bop Deluxe song from that era. A simple song that's fun to play and add to each time you play it.
Lyrics
Lights (c)Bill Nelson (1975) ... recorded originally by Be Bop Deluxe) Shadows move across the faces, of the people we once knew, and though their hearts are full of sorrow, the sun inside can still shine through. In the factories and the stations, In the houses of the poor. In the darkest of all places, there is still an open door ... guitar solo In the factories and the stations, In the houses of the poor. In the darkest of all places, there is still an open door. When you loose the smile you're smiling, When the blues come down on you. You are still a light that's shining, So let the sun inside shine through Let the sun inside shine through, Let the sun inside shine through...

I'm not familiar with the original, but everything about this recording sounds exceptionally well done. Superb guitar work, fantastic job on the sound quality and production. Drums sound very authentic and "live", great job on the vocals. Top notch cover!

Awesome! I love the artwork too; image from early Lost In Space; John Robinson outside the JUPITER 2. When I'm gone beyond, I"ll have my own JUPITER 2. Great Work, Major.
