This tune was written by the bass player and the guitarist of The Lazarus Ladders, my imaginary late 1960 psychedelic group. The band were caught up in the events of the time...the Anti Viet-Nam War demonstration at Grosvenor Square in London.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
The events of 1968 were part of the fabric of life for a band based in London at the time. It was no time for sitting on the fence. The gig that evening at 'Klooks Kleek', had to be cancelled due to the crushed finger that the guitarist sustained and the black eye and slight concussion that the bass player received after being accidently caught up in the most violent part of the demo. This song was written after that encounter.
Lyrics
Thanks to 'Tricky Dicky' for the use of his voice from his Address To The Nation speech.

The way you use a n old speak on your track, reminds me of the band Public Service Broadcasting. It really puts the words in a whole different setting.

Yes, the details on the info to the song reminds me that the days of Peace & Love were not always that loving or peaceful! We were searching for the answers...and we still are! Love this music, & the voice-over works perfectly. Excellent concept.

David, this song is truly amazing. That is a great effort on your part. Excellent guitar and piano playing and that speech is fitting there perfectly . Brilliant work. So honorable of you.
