Story behind the song
On returning home to a surprise birthday party a woman enters her bedroom to change and finds her husband in a compromising position with a young woman. Running from the room upset & angry she gets back into her car and drives off at speed not wanting to face the storm of a failing marriage. Her husband barefooted runs down the driveway after his wifes disappearing mercedes sports car. It's a very stormy night in the hills above Hollywood and the woman finds it hard to see the road clearly. She decides to drive to the harbour and sit to think. After a brief time she restarts the cars engine and turns to head back home. The storm is heavy & the rain is torrential making visibility even harder. Suddenly as she turns a sharp bend an oncoming vehicles lights blind her. She pulls on the steering wheel pressing the brake hard, but her car skids & careering through the road barriers it plummets down the steep hill crashing through trees uncontrollably. The driver of the other vehicle skids to a halt and the man gets out shouting franticly over the edge of the hillside. The car is wrecked and his wife is dead. She has escaped her storm !
