Just a demo of a song that never got recorded.
Original music created in a small studio by myself. Alternative by category, varying in styles from instrumental, pop, rock, folk, to avant.
Im writing new music weekly and my fans , uh my cat, are appreciated. Actually its been many years Ive been here at SoundClick and I have yet to get anyone interested in collaborating. Maybe its time to hang it up.
Story behind the song
Well, it is a song that is fictitious yet has some of me throughout. I sent it to my music collaborator, Rich and he slowed the tempo, which I never liked, although it was a nice version. I wanted a more chugging tempo. We never went back and revisited it and then I moved across country and our collaborating slowed down. But it still, as rough as it is, pleases me.
Lyrics
There used to be a town,
And there used to be a train,
Seven tons of steel,
Heading down to New Orleans,
Now there's only ghosts,
Heading down those tracks,
There used to be a train,
But it's never coming back,
There used to be a street,
And I used to have a name,
But I got lost in memories,
Just like every passing train
Now theres only dreams,
that fall slowly through the cracks,
there used to be a man,
But he's never coming back
Too many miles,
So many rails,
Too many crosses,
with so many nails,
So many days,
spent waliking in the rain,
With the world at my back,
waiting for a train,
There used to be a house,
Just a mile from St. Eugene,
And It calls me now and then,
Like a fire to gasoline,
But the pride of New Orleans,
Doesn't whistle through the black,
There used to be a train,
But it's never coming back
Too many miles,
So many rails,
Too many crosses,
with So many nails,
Too many days,
spent waliking in the rain,
With the world at my back,
waiting for a train,
Too many people,
The Memories and pain, (?)
There used to be a town
and there used to be a train,
There used to be a town
oh and there used to be a train,
