THE TERPSICHORIAN DANCE COMPANY WAS NAMED AFTER TERPSICHORE - THE GREEK GODDESS/MUSE OF DANCING AND SONG. SOURCE: WIKIPEDIA THIS SONG WAS AN ORIGINAL IMPROV MODERN/FREE JAZZ TUNE CALLED "FOND ADIEU TO CAROL- On Retirement/Terpsichore Muse" IT WAS DEDICATED, ON DECEMBER 9, 2009, TO CAROL BLAZINA AS A DISTINGUISHED PROFESSOR AND THE VICE PRESIDENT FOR COMMUNITY RELATIONS WITH THE SUNY (STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK) COLLEGE AT ONEONTA. THE SONG'S DESCRIPTION STATED: "A song for emeritus Carol Blazina, who served with excellence, over four decades, from graduate student to dance professor, vice president, and other achievements for the SUNY College at Oneonta - e.g., founding acclaimed Terpsichorean Dance Company!" CAROL WAS ESPECIALLY BELOVED BY JBBQ! SHE WAS THE ONE WHO FIRST SUGGESTED THAT DR. BOB SHOULD CREATE OUR MUSIC AND FORM THE JBBQ BAND.
