vintage, epic in genre of YES, Gabriel-era Genesis
Orion was a band that existed primarily from 1976-1981 It consisted of 3 future members of AVALON USA, Joel Pirard, John Curtin, Jeff Kalmar, and also CJ Truitt and Roger Schnur. Previous members included Brian Legierre on drums, Jay MacMahon on vocals, Tony Lugamano who replaced Roger for a time, when he left, as did Brian) on drums, but the core became Joel, John and Jeff, until Roger returned, and CJ joined up. These songs are from original tapes made in 1980 from board mixes. In at least one or two occasions, the tapes have been slightly damaged over the years. I am trying to locate backups (they did exist) to archive these. The energy and audacity of youth was apparent. Banana Sound (still in business in NJ) was the sound and recording company. To you, all these years later, who may remember us, I hope this brings back some pleasant memories--J Pirard

Lyrics
Fathers song Like the wind that blows around the sky before me I can fly away in dreams Like the snow-capped peaks you see up in the distance Life is seldom what it seems All the glory of our past is just beginning long to see the shining star In the darkness I dont see souls grinning Still I hear them laughing, making sins of loving Got to be surprising in that evil rising now In the daylight that surrounds the last morning I can see far into time In my mind I see my fathers fathers singing In the eternal rhyme But your mind is lost you cant pay the cost You just wander, as you set out for today You dont have to worry, you cant just say youre sorry In the growing light you flee the light of day In the daylight that surrounds the last morning I can see far into time In my mind I see my fathers fathers singing In the eternal rhyme All the glory of our past is just beginning long to see the shining star In the daylight I can see souls winning Still I hear them laughing, making songs of loving Got to be surprising KILL that evil rising now
