Story behind the song
Mike from YouTube channel doctorcastille is primarily responsible for the bass. I had to rerecord it because his file became corrupted, so what you hear here is not his original offering, but it stays largely true to it. Mike also sent over acoustic and piano tracks that are somewhat buried, but you would definitely notice if they were gone. Thanks, Mike.

Stickboy generously crafted an entire midi drum track that inspired what you hear in this recording. Much of that track remained intact, and what's more, being able to see a well done midi drum file taught me more about percussion than I had learned in my previous 20 years of doing music. Charles Sihan recorded bass, drum and piano tracks that he thought might be useful additions/replacements. I spent over a year trying to squeeze the entire piano track in and just couldn't pull it off. Finally, it dawned on me that, while the full piano is meant to be the foundation for another take on the song (this version can be found here: https://soundcloud.com/justin-osowiec...), it works as a change of pace at the end of this version. Charles and I are still planning to polish up the other style, so maybe that will be posted on YT as well at some point. Thanks, Chaz.

I hope you take the time to check out all of their music. Doctorcastile is probably known to most of my YT friends, Charles was a session pianist and bassist in LA for many years and Stick has had several songs get picked up in films and TV shows, making his time donation to my project even more impressive.
Finally, my daughter is the one who came up with the melody at the end of the song, as well as the idea for the vibrant "DOWN!!!!" as the song is fading. Thank you, Angelika, the song is much better for both of those decisions.
