This is me as a rock and acoustic - singer-songwriter type - musician, Rock Bernd or just Bernd, respectively.
I'm three. Sort of. Bernd, the lyricist who writes for others (bands, solo musicians, composers), Rock Bernd, the home office rocker, and the (once in a while performing) singer-songwriter guy.

Story behind the song
In 2013 I arranged six song lyrics so they would form a logical sequence. I called the little collection my "secular Requiem" or "song cycle for a funeral. "No more" is the second to last song: one has gone for good, but life goes on, hence "here's to all things living" comes last. At that time only three songs had been set to music: "by the seven seas", "farewell" (music by Martin Götz), and "no more". Only now I added music to "I'm leaving" and "leaving traces". When I wrote the music to "no more" I had Procol Harum's "power failure" in mind. The main riff is derived from theirs. Yet, while Gary Brooker practically sings the riff throughout the song, I had the idea that my vocal line should change from verse to verse until eventually melody and guitar riff converge.
Lyrics
no more trusting, no more lying no more longing, no more crying no more suffering, no more feeling no more hurting, no more healing no more hoping, no more waiting no more loving, no more hating no more trying, no more failing no more smiling, no more wailing no more running, no more walking no more listening, no more talking no more owning, no more yearning no more teaching, no more learning no more smirking, no more grinning no more gaining, no more winning no more cheering, no more prancing no more playing, no more dancing no more wondering, no more caring no more giving, no more sharing no more breathing no more breathing
