Story behind the song
This tune originally started out as a Webster/Briggs, Big Sleep song called 'The Face In The Cupboard'. Tony's original lyrics about fashion and self doubt were added to a tune that I played and recorded. His vocal melody and ideas for the song's arrangement was quite different. As I still had the basic instrumental 'backing track', I have now been able to cut out the parts that I didn't like and totally re-arrange the structure of the song. I've written different lyrics that take the tune somewhere else. So, if you read this Tony ... I hope we parted as friends too.

Oh, I wouldn't worry. She says don't worry. I know her, you know. Known her for years. She comes and goes and before ye knows there she is in ye face up ye nose... funny, I woke up with a throbbing headache... getting up at four thirty am has something to do with it... then all this feedback... yeeoww... but somehow, it chased me bloody headache out, like, the headache couldn't compete... bit fucking brilliant then isn't it. see you even used the autochrome pic of her, ah she was a fetching sort in those days, who could deny her then. not I, I'll tell you that. on she drives me still... even the briefest of glance or the glancest of briefs tells one that. well, jolly good show, and now the record's off, so there you go. we did a new one, Sue came up with it, and she basically IS Lucy, so I do me best to accommodate even though I'm an old Henry in declining voice, she's magic and still manages to squeeze some juice out the old lemon.
