Singer/songwriters and group musicians playing various forms or music
Welcome to our page. The Just Plain Folks western Massachusetts chapter features various musicians -- some who play solo, some who are in groups, and some who don't play out. At meetings, we tend to bring along original songs to play for each other to hear; sometimes they're recorded live. Some of these recordings, as well as home recordings of songs presented at our meetings and whatever other songs we choose to post, appear on our music page. Thanks for visiting and listening!

Story behind the song
Written in response to an "assignment" for a song about spring. Live recording from a big room with occasional extraneous noises from people opening doors, etc.
Lyrics
IN THE SPRINGTIME In the springtime the life that had lain dormant Reawakens to blossom once again – A virtual rebirth, Another chance on Earth. It’s perennial – thank God, not bicentennial – The time most likely when you’ll Desire to rejoice, After months of harsh winter. The grass reverts to greenery, Making everything look like a possibiity. (Instrumental) Now it’s springtime, and though I’ve been a doormat I want – somehow – to shake out my loose dirt To cleanse my spirit for A woman to adore Me, the loser. I wish that I could choose her And with some wit amuse her But beggars have no choice. So I need to go out and Become part of the scenery In case that I possess some attractability. In the springtime, my hope does spring eternal. (3-29-2004) WORDS AND MUSIC COPYRIGHT 2004 BY PETER J. SCHINDELMAN. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
