I became a Christian in 1988, many songs were written before that. I continued to write, most songs now to glorify God, to praise His Son Jesus, who set me free, who gave His life so I could live forever.
Make Me Like Jesus came to me while I was driving my truck home, when I got home I forgot how the tune went, I remembered the words but not the melody....it came back to me the next morning...in the shower, are you kidding.
Anyway I kept singing it over and over and rushed to my guitar to get the tune down before I headed to work. The verses came later that night.
I want to live my life like a child of God with Jesus as the example, not to do anything more but to be loving kind caring compassionate and forgiving. When I race my car, my prayer is to race to glorify Jesus. not leave Jesus in the pits until the race is over. I have been so blessed racing and God has been with me always and shown me who Jesus is and how I should live the way I should.
