Story behind the song
I wasn't meaning to come up with the technoish song that combines crunch guitar with atmospheric synth and a burbling loop - once again this song originated from jamming with drum loops within GarageBand - but this time I imported the basic tracks into Cubase and began adding some interesting patches from Native Instruments' FM7 as well as some guitar and synth solos. Guitar is the Falcon through the POD 2 and then processed with the Karlette multi-tap delay VST for solos, the synths are the Falcon's MIDI pickups running into an FM7 patch. The Dreibelbass is patched through the POD 2 and then re-amped through Garageband's bass amp modeler for more of a blown speaker sound. Title comes from a Matt Groening musing on how life is like a winter sled ride....
