I am guilty of writing a song that focuses out the few wrong things my parents did, as compared to the million amazing things theyve done to make me who I am. However, there were too many emotions to let this one slide.

Story behind the song
I am guilty of writing a song that focuses out the few wrong things my parents did, as compared to the million amazing things theyve done to make me who I am. However, there were too many emotions to let this one slide. I overcame the trauma by writing this song. And now I hope kids across the world get the courage to not live under the shadow of their parents. I hope you live the life of your dreams, with complete freedom to choose as you see fit. Experiment, stumble, learn from your mistakes, take advice, but be 100% you.
Lyrics
I want to thank you for Everything youve done From giving birth to Showing me your warm love Providing all my needs Helping me learn Protecting me from pain Scolding me a ton I know you mean well But youre forcing me here You want to save me Instead you broke me I know you had some hopes That I have just ignored Your dreams are yours to bear Not my burden The life that satisfies you May not make me smile Advise me on my journey Dont impose your style I know you mean well But youre forcing me here You want to save me Instead you broke me You judged my worth, on a few measly bucks My feats in music, you called a dud You despised that I adopted kids My noble act you deemed lunacy You failed me before, I gave my test Did you name me special, to copy them? The choices I make are, who I am You take that away Im as good as dead (x3)
