I may not be great, but I am grateful.
Story behind the song
My life has been one of great struggle. Many disappointments and many travels down the wrong paths of life. I have been homeless and I have been addicted to drugs and alcohol. I have betrayed the trust of many who once loved me. But just like the prodigal son, one day I CAME TO MYSELF. I acknowledged my responsibility for my condition and asked God's forgiveness. It is not enough to just "get right." Staying right is the task before me. I still have heartaches. I still have disappointments. But I now realize that every joy has a season, and every pain has a reason. All of us have a cross to bear. I have therefore learned to walk by my faith. Not by sight.
Lyrics
I WILL WEAR A CROWN
By Kenny D. Freeman
A time to live, a time to die
A time to laugh, a time to cry
We walk by faith, and not by sight
Every joy has a season, every pain has a reason
I wont frown, no cross, no crown
And though the world may tear me down
I will wear a crown
For all the years, and all the tears
I will wear a crown
For right now it is laid away,
For me on judgment day
But I will wear a crown
A time to walk, a time to run
A time to end, what weve begun
And God will say, when day is done
Every joy has a season, every pain has a reason
I wont frown, no cross, no crown
