Story behind the song
Notes: Embrace grace. Lamentations 3:22-33 says, " His mercy is new every morning..." Hebrews 4: 15 says, " Come boldly to the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace in your time of need." Mercy is when God doesn't give us the judgment that we deserve, and grace is when God gives us the goodness that we don't deserve........ I love the way this is written in Gregory Dickow's book " Fast From Wrong Thinking p21". Working on a new CD called "Closer To Home" . This song "Even To Your Old Age" brings comfort to me. God is our deliverer no matter how old we get. That thought of getting older sometimes bothers me and that is when the promise that starts this song helps me to keep surrendering to His keeping power and love. I have to always remember and the Holy Spirit helps me to remember that I am just passing thru this life. This helps me to let go of things I need to let go of and to embrace the things I need to embrace. God is good all the time and Satan is bad all the time. Sometimes in the midst of battle I get that a little mixed up but it seems like the Lord Jesus always breaks thru with the truth that sets me free. Like Paul said: I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me. Why do I keep composing music? God keeps strengthening me to do it. It is like therapy for me from the Lord. When I put to music the promises and encouragement that the Lord gives me and I listen to it.... It reminds me of what he has said to me and helps me to have the victory in midst of darkness. In this comfort I share it so maybe there are others that will receive the comfort that I receive.
