A haunting little ballad reflecting on a love lost
vocals jazz cover
Cathy Wetzel, originally from Littleton, Colorado, moved to Iowa in 1975. She was in a local band called CaFaye for 12 years with her husband Jerry, which is where she met Gregory who was their bass player and best man at their wedding. She has written many songs over the years that reflect the trials and successes of her life, which she has woven into a musical play and hopes to record it. She is currently in the band Rose ‘N Thorns that plays in the Quad Cities. Gregory Payton- I've been a Musician since my early teenage years. I started out wanting to be a guitar player and that was the first instrument that I owned. I switched to the bass after some friends and I wanted to put a band together and there was no one to play bass. My father was a well known musician in the area and had a band called the "Dukes of Rhythm" and the bass player had an old bass he wasn't using and gave it to me. So, that was the start of my musical career.

A reflection of a love lost
Lyrics
Only Heaven Knows It's two o'clock in the morning and I just can't fall asleep from thinking about you and emotions running so deep What did I do to make you go and just how much I miss you only Heaven knows It's three o'clock in the morning and there's a tear running down my cheek I'll love you forever was a promise you just couldn't keep What did I do to make you go and just how much I miss you only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows I know in love there's no guarantees but what I found in you I thought you'd found in me It's four o'clock in the morning and I still can't close my eyes all I see are the memories and the truth that turned out to be lies What did I do to make you go and just how much I miss you only Heaven knows It's five o'clock in the morning and the sun is beginnig to shine another day without you and the dreams you left behind What did I do to make you go and just how much I miss you only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows Only Heaven knows It's two o'clock in the morning It's two o'clock in the morning
