This is my take on a particular kind of UK Pop, from the late 1980s to the early 1990s. The song features a nice Brit-Pop jangle from my Yamaha SA1000 guitar. The girl dancing in the rain is of course our dear friend Lucy.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
A Pop song featuring 'Brit Pop', jingle-jangle guitars plus the hook played on the 'clarinet' setting on my old Yamaha PSR-275 keyboard. The main idea was to capture the feel of a wet UK Bank Holiday... at a coastal destination of your choice...Brighton, Bridlington?
Lyrics
From a sea-side coffee shop (David A Briggs) 2019 I'm looking out from the steamed-up windows of a sea-side coffee shop. Watching umbrellas turn in-side-out, day trippers caught on the hop... day trippers caught on the hop... Then I saw you across the street, dancing in your plastic mack. with your hair all wet, you made me forget the mood that turned my blue sky to black... the mood that turned my blue sky to black... Now the sun is out and your sparkling eyes have washed all my cares away. your plastic mack, transported me back, to some long forgotten holidays... to some long forgotten holidays... I'm in a sea-side coffee shop, staring at the fading light. That's the end of another day, It's time to go and face the night... It's time to go and face the night...

A really great insight into a special moment! You've captured that rainy seaside town vibe and the way something unexpected often comes along to cheer us up. The music and sound effects work together perfectly to paint a vivid picture. Love the way a moment like this can be captured in music. Great lyrics to a song that is both quintessentially English and quirky, and very skillfully done.
