The hulking Northville Psychiatric Hospital on Seven Mile Road in Northville, Michigan was long abandoned when I did this song in about 2005. I always imagined all of the strange and painful stuff that went on there, and how it was probably still reverberating around the old building long after it closed. They just recently tore it down.
