Sometimes, a Journey

'Life as a journey' is metamorphic. This includes ones spiritual journey. And the most important life journey ever was by Jesus Christ. In many ways, He lived a life that we can relate to.

Many genres, Contemporary Christian, Lyrics, instrumentals
I write my own songs ;) I have a very diverse taste in music, from Pop to Classical, including Rock, Folk, Jazz, Country, World Music (Celtic, Romanian), Old Timey Stringband/Bluegrass, and Latin. All these styles are in my Christian Contemporary catagory. I usually write the music first, and then put words to the music. Though I don't sing good enough yet, I though I would put my instrumentals out along with my music. Generally, I think my music/lyrics are getting better, being more skilled now than when I started.

Story behind the song
This melody was around for a year or two, but in searching for inspiration and a message, I found a compact sermon: http://www.stmatthews.com/sermons/Archive/MSeilerMar292009.pdf
Lyrics
Sometimes, a Journey Sometimes, a journey seems unending And all we pass remains the same But by the strength of ones convictions There comes a Kingdom to be gained Sometimes, a journey goes in circles Without a plan or guide or map But with the help of life's True North Star There is a way to keep straight paths Sometimes, a journey is a mission A life consuming and loving goal It's like the time the Lord in heaven Came down to rescue the world below Sometimes, a journey gets more crowded, So many people on the roam Then in the night, quiet invites one To sit and stay, commune alone Sometimes, a journey fills with laughter There is a time to feel delight Yet there are days that lead to sadness There is a time to stop and cry Sometimes, a journey meets resistance When one contests deep, longstanding views As we traverse, we see a crossroad There is a branch that we have to choose Sometimes, a journey leads to breakthroughs Within the wall of fear we keep And in the Lord, we learn belonging And with that, learning to be free David Davis copyright 2018
