Story behind the song

The story of Lancelot is an intriguing, complex tale of love, friendship, secrecy, adultery and betrayal.  Mainly, this song is about the immediate feelings of Lancelot as he is overwhelmed by Arthur and Guinevere.  He is intimidated by Arthur, but he loves the older man like a father.  However, he is deeply enamored with Guinevere, and his guilt over this drives a wedge between them.
