Robert Baitinger, a songwriter from Germany
For songwriters who dont sing or perform it is extremely hard to make ones mark in the music business because they dont have a platform to present and promote their work. This is more or less the situation that I, Robert Baitinger, a songwriter from Germany, have been confronted with since I started writing songs in 1978. My idea is to complement my songwriting capabilities with the "helping hands" of excellent artists, musicians and innovative producers. In the age of the internet it has become easier to communicate and collaborate with musicians and producers all over the world. I am utilizing the internet and pursuing the idea of a conceptual studio band with a frequently changing lineup of artists. I call this project the "Rob B. Project" since I supply the melodies and/or lyrics of a song and other musicians/producers/songwriters contribute their talents and skills to make it come to life.

Lyrics
POSTCARDS OF YESTERDAY Verse It seems like only yesterday You and I were young Our life was an adventure Living it was fun I don’t know where the time has gone But it’s gone by too fast We couldn’t keep up with the pace So we re-live the past Pre-Chorus: The future seemed uncertain The past kept us content We closed our eyes for a second Now we don’t know where it went Chorus Reels of old home movies Postcards of yesterday Echoes bounce off the walls As stories are re-played It’s life as we recall it from Postcards of yesterday Echoes bounce off the walls As stories are re-played Verse It seems like only yesterday We said and did those things We’re comfortable in this life And its familiar ring We’re older we don’t look the same But that is all that’s changed We’re still stuck in the same old rut That’s where we will stay Pre-Chorus Chorus Music & lyrics: Carroll Kiphen, Ian Jenkins, Robert Baitinger Piano: Robert Baitinger All other instruments & vocals: Ian Jenkins
