a sweet summer song, a girl on the mind
Singer/songwriter, Acoustic guitar, electric fills, little saxophone, I do them all
Story behind the song
I wrote it outside, at bear creek, and it just flowed out like it did when i recorded it.
There was a girl on my mind when i wrote this although it isn't meant to be specific.
Lyrics
A Girl in Sandals
June 26, 2004
She said, “I didn’t want to back then”
So she kicks her sandals off and lets her hair out to the wind
She said, “I hope I look okay”
And she kicks her sandals off and slowly takes my breath away
If the sun had a face it would smile when you stepped outside
The rainy clouds would run and hide
The summer warmth touches your skin
And the sun begins to grin
Because you feel good to me
She said, “I’m dying for a touch”
So she kicks her sandals off three times cause once wasn’t enough
She said, “No boy has ever looked at me”
Well I’ll be the first, I’ll be the last just let it be oh let it be
If the sun had a face it would smile when you stepped outside
The rainy clouds would run and hide
The summer warmth touches your skin
And the sun begins to grin
Because you feel good to me
She said, “I love the summer because”
I can kick my sandals off and let my feet touch the sun
She said, “Can I see your tanlines?”
I’ll show you that, I’ll show you more show you why you make the sun smile
If the sun had a face it would smile when you stepped outside
The rainy clouds would run and hide
The summer warmth touches your skin
And the sun begins to grin
Because you feel good to me
She said, “It’s time to loose my innocence”
So she kicks her sandals off and slowly removes the rest
She said, “I think you are alright”
So she kicks her sandals off and hints at me to stay the night
If the sun had a face it would smile when you stepped outside
The rainy clouds would run and hide
The summer warmth touches your skin
And the sun begins to grin
Because you feel good to me
