Megalife is a D/FW TX based multi-styled fusion of guitar-driven, old-school-meets-modern-day rock and metal band, with something for everyone.
How did you get together as a band? Started as a recording project with the drummer from my first band, my bassist from my church worship team and my drummer's former co-worker. What is music to you? Oxygen. It is the vehicle by which we minister to others. What is the meaning of the band’s name? The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. - John 10:10 New King James Version (NKJV) What is your band to you? Each member can write their own answer A brotherhood, family, ministry and a safe haven. What is your music about and what message do you want to send with it? There is more to life than just the everyday mundane existence. God has a plan and purpose for every single one of us. We write and play to encourage and give hope. What inspires you to make music? Everything. Which musicians or bands have influenced your music? Def Leppard, Queensryche, Boston, Judas Priest, Pink Floyd, Stryper, Skillet, Joe Satriani, Journey... What have you learnt from each other that you didn’t know before joining this band? We were brought together for a purpose. That purpose is for each other, our families and the world. What is the feeling during a live show? That connection with the audience is key. They want what we have and we want to do whatever it takes to deliver that to them with every note sung or played, our character and our speech. Everything matters. What do you dream of? Reaching more people. What does it take for a band to get their music heard by a larger audience? Persistence. How do you see the musicians’ reality nowadays? What could be improved? The music industry has crumbled. We exist outside of it because our purpose isn't about becoming rich and famous or being rock stars. We play to glorify God and establish His Kingdom on earth. What does frustrate you most as a band? Lack of opportunities. We have to fight and scratch for every one, work really hard to prepare and then sometimes deal with a disappointing turnout and/or performance. Do you support your local scene as fans? How? Yes. We watch other bands, play with them and buy their merchandise.
