A "Trip For Biscuits" is a term con men use for wasted effort; a con that doesn't pay off. I find this stuff fascinating. This song is full of terms that are strange and colorful to me, actually it almost wrote itself...

I'm a guitarist, singer, and songwriter from central Kentucky. My music is a mix of many different influences; from the country and western I heard as a child to some stuff I heard yesterday. I was a full time, working musician for over twenty years; doing clubs and concerts all over the eastern U.S., but mainly in Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, and Florida. I have played every kind of venue; from the smallest, seediest club to 10,000 seat concert halls. Loved every minute of it. I also spent many hours in various studios as both musician and producer on a variety of projects. I am now a part time musician; I divide my musical time between writing and recording my own songs and playing with a great bunch of musicians in a band called "The Grandees". I write songs primarily to make you shake your money maker. I'm not deep, and I'm certainly no virtuoso. I just want you to have a good time. The songs I have here are from my second solo CD, titled "The Twisted Tale Of The Honky Tonk Monkey", which is available at CDBaby.com and my upcoming CD "Bad Choices Make Good Stories". My first CD, "All Night Radio", is available at CD Baby and fine CD discount bins everywhere. Thank you for visiting, and... TURN IT UP!!!!!

Lyrics
Lila got distracted on the blow off A cardinal rule of being on the run Never get your honey Where you get your money Never mix romance and a gun Jimmy was a roper on the west side Blackie had a handle on the crew Tossing Broads and Crazy Larry Swinging Priests and Pregnant Mary The only life these bunnies ever knew Chorus: For a little flash We can score big cash Just light the flame On the Badger Game If you never risk it Life's a trip for biscuits You'll never get rich On the Jamaican Switch Our girl Lila was a looker Just not the brightest in the hall But her hustler's education Explained the situation And Lila won't stand behind the eight ball Bridge: The Hook was a line from a Penny and Dime And some Babe Gam The Flash was a little cash From the Butter And Egg Man The Shade was a Classic Fade With a perfect Angle Then they heard the Chicago Lightning And they had to dangle On the coast of Argentina In the town of San Major There's a statue of a lady Who could be somewhat shady And no one knows what the hell it's for
