Story behind the song
My band, DePotorLand will be playing at this year's Sidewalk Chalk Festival in Lewisburg PA. I wrote this little jingle to celebrate and promote the event.
Lyrics
CHORUS:
There's a festival,
Woo-oot woo-oot woo-oot Hey!
It's all the talk
Beh-beh-beh-beh-beh-beh
You better go downtown,
For the si-ide walk chalk,
All the colors,
Si-ide walk chalk.
VERSE 1:
Purple, blue and red, chartreuse might do instead.
Yellow, burnt sienna, chestnut, laser lemon,
Timberwolf, indigo, cornflower, sunglow,
Rain rain wash away, we’ll bring our chalk another day.
CHORUS
VERSE 2:
Children of ev’ry age, pastels of ev’ry shade,
Short stroke, a slight curve, tall trees, a bright fern,
Monkeys and dinosaurs, chimneys and open doors,
Rain rain wash away, we’ll bring our chalk another day.
CHORUS & ENDING
