She was in a local band called CaFaye for 12 years with her husband Jerry, which is where she met Gregory who was their bass player and best man at their wedding. She has written many songs over the years that reflect the trials and successes of her life, which she has woven into a musical play and hopes to record it. She is currently in the band Rose ‘N Thorns that plays in the Quad Cities. Gregory Payton- I've been a Musician since my early teenage years. I started out wanting to be a guitar player and that was the first instrument that I owned. I switched to the bass after some friends and I wanted to put a band together and there was no one to play bass. My father was a well known musician in the area and had a band called the "Dukes of Rhythm" and the bass player had an old bass he wasn't using and gave it to me. So, that was the start of my musical career.

Story behind the song
Many years ago, I worked second shift for the US Postal Service keying the mail. When I would drive home on a hot, humid summer night, I would roll down my windows so I could breathe in the air. The Mississippi River on my right; a full moon shining down; the air full of life – I’m the luckiest one alive.
Lyrics
Ridin' down the road on River Drive, watchin' as the barges float by Hear the whistle of a distant freight train Driftin’ through the air, I haven't got a care. Headlights of the cars are coming near. Blind my eyes and then they disappear I can't see the faces, I don't know any of the names But I'm in the zone, as I'm drivin' home See the man in the moon, he's looking down at me He's grinning from ear to ear, he wishes he were me Stars so bright, there's not a cloud in sight The air so thick you could cut it with a knife Lights reflecting off the river, as I'm drivin' by Well, I don't mean to jive, but sometimes I feel that I'm The luckiest one alive, on River Drive.
